Graham, Missouri is located in Nodaway County (Northwest Missouri) on Nodaway County Rt A-9 miles west of US 71 at the Pumpkin Center Interchange.

TOURIST ATTRACTION & RECREATION:
The old calaboose (jail) is in the center of the city park. It is a one room, brick structure with a curved roof. The rare jail is one of three still in existence today in Missouri. Horseshoe pitching, tennis court, basketball, playground equipment and shelter house are available to use. During the month of December people come to Graham to view the city block of unusual Christmas decoration and lights (biggest display in Nodaway County).

Lying between the Nodaway River and the White Cloud River, the land provides for productive grain and livestock farming.

LOCAL LEGENDS & HISTORY:
Issac Hogan, Daniel Hogan, Robert Taylor, Robert Stewart, and Benj Owens came to this area in 1839. They found many natural springs, with abundant water supply, rich black soil and timberland. The town was laid out in 1856 by Andrew Brown and was called Jacksonville. The name was changed to Graham in 1859. When the town was incorporated in 1871, the population was near 400. Robert Stewart became a Governor of Missouri in 1857-1860. The first church in Nodaway County was located in Graham in 1856.
Jesse James and his gang stayed one night here and the next morning he had his horse shod at the local livery stable. The townspeople did not realize who he was until after they left.
President Herbert Hoover and his wife toured their farm south of Graham in 1932 or 1933. They were bewildered at the size of the crowd that came to greet them.
Graham celebrated its Sesquicentennial in 1989. The Historic Pageant had 100 actors in it and the Parade was the longest (2 miles) in its history.

Graham Street Fair (Held the last full weekend in August); Arbor Day Celebration, Community Betterment Memorial Day meal; Community Betterment Early American Dinner in October; Hobby Club Show; Jim Praters Memorial Blue Grass Festival (twice a year).
