A country western Jam Session is held every Thursday night at the Barnum Community Center, located on the north east corner of the square. Our community holds a community potluck every 3rd Tuesday to get together with neighbors and friends.

LOCAL LEGENDS & HISTORY:
In the early 1900’s, a circus elephant was buried on a farm just south of Decatur.

The United Methodist Church was the first Methodist Church built in Decatur County. The Church was built in 1891.

FESTIVALS & CELEBRATIONS:
Decatur City Reunion Days is celebrated in the park, normally the third Saturday in June. This festival includes a parade, carnival games, crafts, antiques, flea market, songfest, kiddy tractor pull, garden tractor pull, hog roast and jam session.

REAL ESTATE:
City lots are available for new construction, along with some homes for sale.

CHURCHES:
Assembly of God, Decatur City Restoration, and United Methodist are located in our community.

LIBRARY:
The library is located in the Barnum Community Center and is open weekday afternoons for those who would like to browse. We have a variety of books for young and old alike.
